#WearWhite For Family

2014年07月02日

Over 6,400 members of FCBC, proudly donned in white, turned up at Suntec Convention Centre on June 29, 2014 for our Combined Family Worship Service. The wondrous sea of white was truly a sight to behold as it signified our determination to see to it that the family is preserved as a sacred place of purity and virtue.

For many, it took a step of faith to courageously wear white and show society that we will not remain silent, and defend family to consist of one man as father, one woman as mother and children. This glorious sight was not restricted to FCBC alone, but other LoveSingapore Churches like Bethesda (Bedok-Tampines) Church also had over 90% in white. It was as this service fell on FamFest weekend, which was a special time for the LoveSingapore network of Churches to mark a family moment at all services.

Senior Pastor Lawrence Khong preached on “Communicating Christ In The Home”, the fifth sermon in our “Family Matters” series. He called parents to “TEACH”, “TALK” and “LIVE” God’s Truth before their children, and commit themselves to building strong families. The service drew to a close with all 6,400 present singing the national anthem and declaring the national family pledge as one body of Christians and citizens of Singapore:

“We, the people of Singapore, pledge to build strong and happy families.
We affirm the commitment of marriage between husband and wife.
And take responsibility to nurture our children, and respect our elders.
We celebrate and honour the roles of each family member.
And uphold the family as the foundation of our lives, and the building block of our society.”
