Overseas Missionary Fellowship (OMF) In South East Asia

Asholi and Puii took over the reins in October 2010 from their parents in law/parents, Zauva and Awii in the ministry among the Akha people in Thailand and Myanmar. FCBC has supported OMF work among the Akha people since 2003.

The theme they have selected for their ministry in 2012 is "… be transformed by the renewing of your mind…" (Romans 12:2). It is their prayer that God will help them renew their minds and draw their hearts closer to Him each day.

From 7-11 March 2012, the Akha Churches in Thailand (ACT) celebrated their 50 years of Christianity in Huaisan, Elephant Valley, the first Akha Christian village in Thailand. Different Akha villages took turns to work voluntarily for the preparation of the Jubilee Celebration, thanking God for Hisfaithfulness in bringing ACT through the last 50 years.

"How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news…" (Isaiah 52:7).

The theme of the Jubilee Celebration was "Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!" (2 Corinthians 9:15).

Praise Items

  • Individuals, cell group and churches for their sincere prayer support and sacrificial gift towards the Akha ministry and Asholi's family.
  • The radio broadcasting time being extended from 15 mins to 30 mins.
  • 30 Akha people who came to know Jesus and got baptized during January/February 2012 in Nat Pang, Myanmar.
  • 6 families from Gongbekache Akha village renounced their past worship and followed Christ; they walked more than 6km to throw their paraphernalia into the river and 10 of them were baptized there.

Prayer Needs

  • Pray for the new believers in Nat Pang and for follow-up work by their workers.
  • Pray for the spirit of God to help the workers as they minister to the 20-30 families in Dolong village who are ready to renounce their spirit worship.
  • Pray that after the 50th year celebration, there will be a spiritual awakening in the lives of both the leaders and the people in ACT (Akha Churches in Thailand).
  • Sala Sahui and his wife found a lady from Nat Pang who had a pain in her throat for a long time. They sought treatment from several places but she was not healed. Thinking this might be the act of an evil spirit; Asholi and Puii seized the opportunity and shared their faith with her. By God's grace, she became better and returned to her husband and 4-year old son happily.
  • Pray that the Holy Spirit will intervene and deliver her from the bondage of the evil spirit and that she and her husband will believe in Jesus Christ.
