PASTORS@PRAYER

This past Wednesday, I was very impacted by the PASTORS@PRAYER meeting hosted by LoveSingapore at St Andrew’s Cathedral. We sang praises, worshipped and cried out to God for His mercy and protection upon each one of us, and for our families to remain strong as we face the many different changes of modern living. As one body, we also prayed for the welfare of our nation, each time partnering different people. On one occasion, I got to pray and renew my friendship with a leader, whom I had known from my former church. Many years ago, Senior Pastor Lawrence and I were made to leave the church due to some differences, and we went on to birth Faith Community Baptist Church. This encounter was special to me because despite our past differences, both she and I were able to set them aside and pray with one heart and mind for the common destiny and good of our nation!

As we prayed, God showed me that in order to usher in His blessings and anointing upon Singapore as Antioch of Asia, we need to humble ourselves and pray and seek God’s face and turn from our wicked ways, then God will hear from heaven, and He will forgive our sin and will heal our land. (2 Chronicles 7:14)

For all this to happen, there must first be unity amongst all the denominations of Christians in Singapore. Unity is especially important in our community because when pre-believers observe our spirit of unity and love for one another, God is glorified and they will want to know Him too. Unity is very important to our Lord Jesus as well, so much so that He prayed for our unity in John 17:21, “I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one — as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.”

This is my fervent prayer for the Church of Singapore in this preparatory year of prayer, before the year of proclamation and revival next year!
