God Remembers You!

When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,
what is mankind that you are mindful of them,
human beings that you care for them? - Psalm 8:3-4

Dear family,

Our God who rules the universe and has been in existence since the very beginning remembers not just certain periods of time or an era in history. He remembers you and me. God remembers you even when you feel alone in your obedience and overwhelmed by His righteousness. God, who knows everything that has happened and everyone who has ever lived, remembers you because He cares for you.

As 2016 comes to an end, there may be some of us who face serious challenges in our lives, finances, studies or relationships. Some of us may even be feeling neglected, unappreciated and unrewarded - even taken for granted in our homes, in our marriages, at work, or serving in church. But I want to remind all of us that God knows, cares and remembers you!

There’s nothing you and I can do to make God love us more or less, because His love for us is already at its fullest. When He came to earth as a man and died on the cross for our sins, He paved the way for us to be in continual fellowship with Him for eternity. But ultimately, the choice is still ours!

As Romans 10:9 says, “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” From that point till the end of our lives, God remembers and loves us with His maximum amount of love. Serving in the mission field or becoming the next Mother Teresa will not make God love us more than He already does since we received Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour. God’s love for us will always be the same! Our works are not a way to make Him love us more, but rather to grow in intimacy of fellowship with our God.

Going forward into 2017, I want to bless every one of us in FCBC with the blessing from Numbers 6:24-26:

The Lord bless you and keep you;
the Lord make His face shine on you and be gracious to you;
the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace.
