Copywriter / Editor, Corporate Communications

Working with FCBC’s Corporate Communications team, the Copywriter / Editor is the point person to craft compelling copy to promote the organisation’s key messages, activities and initiatives. The candidate must have a strong command of English, as well as comfortably write engaging copy to captivate audiences on a variety of platforms to tell FCBC’s story and inspire participation in our activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Content
    • Research and collaborate with teams to develop copy concepts
    • Produce, write and edit content for the website with SEO principles to introduce new initiatives, cover events, and share compelling stories to showcase our vibrant church activities, personal stories of transformation, and impact of the church
  • Publications
    • Coordinate collection of information from all departments to draft and produce FCBC’s annual report that share key activities and milestones of the church
  • Publicity
    • Craft announcement scripts to excite and inform the audience on upcoming initiatives
  • Social Media
    • Create engaging content to cover happenings of the church, share announcements and impactful stories
    • Analyse social media trends and platform performance to understand stakeholder interests and effectiveness of the message
  • Editing
    • Edit and proofread copy for various materials as needed
  • Any other tasks as assigned

Requirements:

  • Excellent copywriting and editing skills, with the ability to write with clarity, tell compelling stories, develop copy concepts, and adapt copy to a variety of styles and genres
  • 3 to 8 years of experience in a copywriting role.
  • A diploma or degree in communications, media studies, English, or marketing is preferred, however, those with relevant experience will also be considered for the role.
  • Experience in writing for SEO and some proficiency in the Chinese language would be advantageous
  • Skilled in the use of common software such as Microsoft Word, Google docs and other collaboration tools
  • A team player, able to work collaboratively and is open to feedback to actualise the ideas that the organisation wants to communicate
  • A proactive contributor who takes initiative and ownership of projects and able to work on multiple projects concurrently
  • Motivated with a positive outlook, and enjoy meeting people from all walks of life
