It's Jubilee Moment!

The moment we anticipated, sought and longed for over the past couple of years dawned upon us this year – Singapore’s first-ever Year of Jubilee, in celebration of five decades of independence. This iconic year is not only a milestone in Singapore’s history, but also key for the body of Christians. As God’s people, we had a spiritual responsibility to inaugurate this historic moment by honouring the Almighty Ruler of all nations. Hence leading up to this Jubilee moment, 23 churches throughout this little red dot united and answered the call to host two hours of celebration and consecration for a total of 50 hours as we counted down to the Year of Jubilee. Even into the wee hours of the morning, worship and praise were raised to the Heavens in exultation of our Sovereign Lord, and prayers of intercession were cried out on behalf of our beloved nation.

For the final four hours of this countdown, all churches came together for the Day of His Power where we exalted our Risen Saviour as the pre-eminent founder of our nation and as our Eternal King. Even as Singapore entered this next season of nation building, Senior Pastor Lawrence Khong reminded the Church of Singapore that our Year of Jubilee is in fact “a reset button for the people of God.” We have been awarded with a new beginning, and in the words of Senior Pastor Nina Khong, “We need to arise to be the guardian generation – to stand in the gap for the morality and integrity of our nation and home.”

To end off the 50-Hour Countdown to Jubilee, we claimed the promises of God for our nation and declared in one voice, as one people: “We are no longer our own. We are a people belonging to God. A chosen generation. A royal priesthood. A holy nation. God’s very own possession. In view of God’s mercies, we renew our covenant relationship with God.”

Senior Pastor Lawrence Khong said it best at the start of the countdown, “As we enter this year of Jubilee, we are reminded that our ultimate purpose in life is to worship God with all of our heart, mind and soul. It is a delightful duty that God has called upon us.”
