God Bless Singapore

Earlier this week, as Senior Pastor Lawrence and I sat in the National Stadium together with fellow Singaporeans to celebrate Singapore’s 51st birthday, I was moved to uphold our beloved nation’s future with blessings from Psalm 67 (NKJV), “God be merciful to us and bless us, and cause His face to shine upon us, that Your way may be known on earth, Your salvation among all nations. Let the peoples praise You, O God; let all the peoples praise You. Oh, let the nations be glad and sing for joy! For You shall judge the people righteously, and govern the nations on earth. Let the peoples praise You, O God; let all the peoples praise You. Then the earth shall yield her increase; God, our own God, shall bless us. God shall bless us, and all the ends of the earth shall fear Him.”

The first two verses of above psalm really spoke to me – especially how the author uses “that” to link the first and second verse: “God be merciful to us and bless us, and cause His face to shine upon us, that Your way may be known on earth, Your salvation among all nations.” This line amplifies the fact and reminds us that as God blesses us in Singapore, our lives will be more than a testimony to our family and friends, our community, our nation, and even the whole of Asia! When they see God’s favour and unfailing love for this little red dot, they too will be drawn to God.

Dear FCBC family, let us continue to pray for God’s mercy and favour for Singapore. Our nation, our leaders and our fellow citizens need our prayers. As we pray unceasingly, I believe we’ll see God move even more powerfully in Singapore and many more will come to know and love Him. May God bless you, for the sake of His people, for the sake of Singapore.
