God With Us

Dear family,

It’s good to be back home after a full week of travelling. Senior Pastor Lawrence and I were away in Bangkok, Thailand with Pastors Richard and Jenny Ong, followed by two cities in Taiwan with Pastor Eugene Tan and Gateway Entertainment’s Deputy CEO, Wan Junyan. Our first stop was Bangkok, where we were invited by Pastors Anuparp and Weena Wichitnantana of Bangkok Liberty Church to be guest speakers at this year’s G12 Thailand Conference held at The Mall, Bangkapi. As always, it was a wonderful uplifting experience to meet fellow international disciples, and connect heart to heart to edify one another and fortify ourselves as we serve together to grow God’s kingdom in Thailand. Senior Pastor Lawrence and I count it as a privilege to serve and bless a nation where less than 1% of its populace are Christians.

In fact, I experienced intense spiritual warfare in Thailand, when I suffered an acute pain in my right ankle as soon as I arrived at the hotel in Bangkok. The pain was so severe that I could not walk without pain for our next three days there. Nonetheless, we continued to attend the conference and left as scheduled for Taipei on Sunday, where we met up with key pastors and marketplace leaders to promote Gateway Entertainment’s Christmas Magic – its signature evangelistic production where we will share the Christmas message of faith, hope and love in Taichung and Kaohsiung this coming November. After two days of meetings in Taipei, we departed for Kaohsiung on Tuesday evening, where Senior Pastor Lawrence shared and performed to about 400 pastors and church leaders over dinner. Through illusions, he shared his journey into Arts and Entertainment, and encouraged them to invite church members and friends to November’s Christmas Magic shows.

God was with us throughout this trip and we saw His hand at work when we decided at the eleventh hour to catch the high speed rail back to Taipei after our dinner meeting, instead of staying the night in Kaohsiung. His favour was with us and we were able to cancel our hotel reservations in Kaohsiung with no penalties, and extend one more night’s stay in our Taipei hotel. Because of this decision, by God’s grace, we avoided Taiwan’s worst typhoon in 21 years that made landfall in Kaohsiung the next morning, when we were due to leave Taipei. Thank God, He watches over us every step of the way, and we are so happy to be back home to worship with all of you this weekend.
