The Light Has Come

Hi Church, Senior Pastor Nina and I bring you greetings from Hokkaido! Last week, we recorded a short Christmas greeting for you from Hangzhou, China. We had a thought that we really wanted to share with you, but couldn’t due to some circumstances during the filming.

It’s taken from Isaiah 9:6, where the prophet Isaiah talks about the Messiah, “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

I was reminded that Christmas is all about God’s light shining into the hearts of men, bringing hope and joy. This is the good news of Christmas. Yet, the greatest impact of the birth of the Messiah is found in verse 2, “The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned.”

Indeed, this is the true message of Christmas – The Light Has Come! Jesus is the light of heaven, and He will shatter the darkness in the lives of everyone who receives Him gladly and humbly. He will turn our sorrow to joy, our fear to faith, our anxiety to hope, and our confusion to confidence. So, let’s thank God for His light, and share the light with the world!

Once again, Senior Pastor Nina and I wish all of you a blessed Christmas, and a joyous New Year!
