This past week, both my dad and I were ministering overseas, but in different places. He and a team were over in Frankfurt for the European Chinese Revival Conference, while I was with another team in Manila for the G12 Philippines National Conference.
Every time we’re invited to preach and teach overseas, I’m just reminded of what a privilege it is. Not only in serving God, but that God has given us a calling and open doors to the nations. As I take on the role of Senior Pastor, I find myself occasionally asking why. Why us? What do we have to offer? It just doesn’t make sense. And it’s in these moments that God reminds me of 1 Corinthians 1:27, which tells us that “God has chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty.” That’s where I can only come to this conclusion – it’s a privilege.
FCBC, this church has a tremendous calling to Asia and beyond. It’s not because we’re all that knowledgeable or have gotten everything figured out. It’s simply a calling. And as we continue to faithfully trust and obey what God calls us to do, we will see an even greater measure of His glory upon us.
I can’t wait to see what God has in store for us. I thank God for all of you and this great calling that we’re all a part of. What a privilege!
