Revival is near. All over the world, Christian leaders are prophesying that. As for us, we believe that there’s going to be a great harvest in 2019 when we host a large-scale Christian event at the Singapore Sports Hub.
This means that 2018 needs to be a year of intensive prayer. God reminded me of Amos 9:13, “‘The days are coming,’ declares the Lord, ‘when the reaper will be overtaken by the ploughman and the planter by the one treading grapes. New wine will drip from the mountains and flow from all the hills,”
God is telling us that the harvest will be so plentiful and so rapid that “the reaper will be overtaken by the ploughman and the planter by the one treading grapes.” In other words, before one cycle of harvest ends, the next would have already begun.
We are not just praying for a plentiful harvest, but a ‘bumper harvest’. A ‘bumper harvest’ or ‘bumper crop’ is defined as an unusually productive harvest, where each grain is plump and overflowing with life and fertility.
This means that every new believer will be burning with passion for God and almost instantly become a committed disciple. Within weeks, a person who just accepted Christ can go from “win” to “send”. The harvest immediately becomes harvesters. This is what Amos 9:13 portrays.
What then should we do now? We must intensify prayer. As Matthew 9:37-38 tells us, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” The word “ask” used in this verse is very intensive. It means “to beg” or “to beseech”. So let us go before the Lord and beg for revival. He will hear our prayers!
