Spiritual Warfare

The Christmas Magic team is in Xiamen now. Thank you for praying for us! We’ve performed four sold-out shows in Shanghai and Chongqing. Praise God for the good turnout! However, we experienced major spiritual warfare while we were in our last city, Chongqing.

When I first entered the theatre, Felina, the show’s producer, told me that some of the crew had experienced ‘spooky’ encounters. For the first time in our many years of working together, she asked me to pray for spiritual cleansing of the place. Next, Senior Pastor Nina developed a bad fever and cold on our first night there, and it persisted until the last day. The following day, Franck, Priscilla’s husband, also came down with a high fever. Lastly, on the night of our final show in Chongqing, Petrina, our stage manager, started to throw up during one of the most important moments of the presentation. She fought to keep the show going, while shivering from the chills.

Chongqing has historically been a strategic place of military warfare in ancient China. In fact, there were three occasions in Chinese history that the city became the capital of the nation. I sense it is a place of major spiritual stronghold. We need to pray for the city of Chongqing; that God will bring spiritual breakthrough.

Meanwhile, please pray for our team as we continue our tour in Xiamen and Hangzhou. In moments like these, we are reminded once again that “our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” (Ephesians 6:12)

Let us claim the words of 2 Corinthians 2:14: “But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere.”

- Senior Pastor Lawrence Khong
