Glorifying God In Evangelism

Dear family, I am very happy to have been able to attend the Happiness Group (幸福小组) disciple training in Kaohsiung, Taiwan with Pastor Lawrence and the equipping team earlier this week. This training is conducted by Blessed and Blessing Church (福气教会). As we’ve shared in great deal, Happiness Group is a great evangelistic strategy to win lost souls. For eight straight weeks, our unsaved friends become our BEST, and they’re blessed with love, honour and prayer. We’ve also seen heaven’s doors open to shower them with many miracles. This is all done in the hope that they will eventually receive God’s great gift of salvation.

One key facet of Happiness Group is being intentional about evangelism. In the Great Commission, Jesus calls us to step out in faith, spread His good news and win souls. This is faith in action. It could be as simple as sharing our testimony with a neighbour or colleague, or as drastic as moving to another country as a missionary of God. It could even be sharing our toys and favourite treats with the less fortunate children in our estate. Regardless of age, wherever we go, each of us can share the gospel in our own unique way.

We have all experienced how richly God loves us. 1 John 4:10 writes, “In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” And Matthew 7:12 tells us to “do to others what you would have them do to you”, that includes loving them as we have been loved, which at the very least, means sharing the good news with them. Our love for the lost should compel us to have compassion on those in need, those without Christ, and everyone’s greatest need is eternal salvation!

Our ultimate motivation in evangelism is to see God glorified. God is glorified when the truth about Him is known and made known. So, our desire should be to glorify God by proclaiming the truth about Him as often as we can. This motivation will sustain us when our love for others run dry. It is only then, that we can faithfully evangelise in spite of rejection, opposition, and even persecution. FCBC, let our deepest motivation be to glorify God at all times!
