A few of us from FCBC had the privilege of being at the National G12 Conference in the Philippines this past week. 20,000 people gathered from all across the country to be at the conference and it was absolutely amazing.
I believe that one of the key reasons why the G12 Vision is exploding in the Philippines is because the people there are hungry for more of God. The conference started at 7.30am each morning, and it took some of the delegates up to four hours to get to the conference venue. A typhoon hit the Philippines a couple of days ago as well, yet the people would walk in the rain, amidst ankle-deep water, just to be at the conference.
I truly am inspired by the hunger of the people in the Philippines, and it caused me to reflect on my own life. I’m reminded of Proverbs 27:7, which says, “A person who is full refuses honey, but even bitter food tastes sweet to the hungry.” What Scripture teaches us is that when we are hungry and desperate, we are willing to do anything and go anywhere for God. That’s the spirit I saw at the Philippines conference, and I pray that it’s a spirit I will always have too.
May we always hunger after God and have a deep desperation for more and more of Him in our lives, our church, and our nation.
