When Spiritual Eagles Fly Together

This year’s 24th annual LoveSingapore Summit was without a doubt the best we’ve ever had. To start off, we saw a record attendance of almost 800 pastors and leaders. We also had anointed speakers like Pastor Yang Xiru from Kaohsiung, Taiwan to bring us powerful teachings on what true discipleship is. FCBC is no stranger to Pastor Yang, whose church developed the 幸福小组 (xing fu xiao zu) strategy that we’ll be launching very soon. His insights cut into the depths of our hearts, tearing every excuse for our lack of passion and effectiveness in winning souls for Christ.

Our other key speaker was Pastor Peter Yang from Taipei, Taiwan. He shared with us their tremendous victory in the national referendum last November that prevented the legalisation of same-sex marriage in Taiwan. It was a great testimony of how powerful a united church can be in transforming a nation. We were all inspired by the commitment and faith of a church that stood together for the purposes of God.

In addition, many candid discussions between the older, senior members of the LoveSingapore committee and next generation church leaders took place. It was both heartening and uplifting to see such liberal discourse take place between the generations.

However, to me, the most exciting aspect of the Summit was the presence of 19 pastors from Japan. These 19 pastors will form the core team of Japanese leaders who will partner us in our LoveJapan church planting efforts in the years to come.

In the words of a good friend of mine at the Summit, “It is great to see spiritual giants flying together for the glory of God and His kingdom.”

- Senior Pastor Lawrence Khong
